Purgatory Pie Press Website
Purgatory Pie Press is one of the longest running artist/presses. Letterpress printmaker Dikko Faust and artistic director Esther K Smith collaborate on limited editions and artist books, both working together and with other artists and writers. Over the years they have worked with over 100 other artists and writers. Their limited editions and artist books are in many public and private collections including MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum, Cooper Hewitt, Brooklyn Museum. They have shown their artist books all over the world. Highlights include exhibitions at the rare book libraries of Metropolitan Museum and London's V&A.
As a digital space for the letterpress studio, the website represent the atmosphere of an actual studio. Instead of using a computerized typeface, the webpage uses actual handset letterpress typeface to carry the legacy of the letterpress studio.
